the Moxie Horsemobile
Moxie was a popular soft drink. Beginning in 1916, the Moxie Company sent Moxie Horsemobiles all over the country, where they advertised the drink at fairs, parades and other public functions. The Horsemobile was an automobile with a wooden horse standing in the back. The driver could actually steer the car from the saddle. It was also known as the Moxie horse car and the Moxiemobile.

Edison tone tests
Beginning in 1915, Edison conducted Tone Tests to demonstrate his Diamond Disc phonographs and records. In a crowded theater, a phonograph and live singer both stood on the stage. The lights were turned off and a record was played. The audience was asked to determine whether it was the singer or the phonograph they were hearing. Usually it was impossible to tell the difference.
